The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has announced plans for his final burial rites, describing him as a man whose life reflected love, faith, generosity, and compassion.
The actor reportedly died after battling kidney cancer, leaving many fans, colleagues, and loved ones heartbroken over the tragic loss.
In a statement released by the family, they said Alexx may have passed on too soon, but his life was filled with warmth, laughter, kindness, and deep devotion to both God and the people around him.
“Though his passing came far too soon, Alexx lived a life marked by love, warmth, generosity, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to God and the people he cherished. His presence filled rooms, lifted hearts, and created memories that will remain with us forever. We warmly invite family, friends, colleagues, fans, and well wishers to join us as we honor and celebrate his beautiful life, enduring legacy, and the precious memories he gave us all.”
According to the funeral arrangement shared by the family, a Service of Songs will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Guests attending the event are expected to wear white.
The wake keep is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the family residence located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
The funeral service will hold on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State, before the actor is laid to rest later the same day at the family compound.
The family also stated that a reception would follow immediately after the interment at Mary Slessor School, with guests also expected to appear in white attire.
They further appealed to the public to remember the late actor and his loved ones in prayers during this difficult period.
