4 NNL Clubs Gain Promotion to NPFL While 10 Relegates to NLO

Four clubs have earned promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League after the Nigeria National League (NNL) board confirmed the movement of clubs following the conclusion of the 2025/2026 league season. While ten others were relegated to the Nationwide League One.

‎The Nigeria National League (NNL) board made these decisions at the end of the season board meeting held on Tuesday, May 5 2026 at the auditorium of Beyond Limits FC, Ikenne, Ogun State.

‎The Nigeria National League (NNL) board named the four promoted clubs as Doma FC, Sporting Lagos, Ranchers Bees and Inter Lagos FC in a communiqué issued after the meeting.

‎The ten clubs relegated to the Nationwide League One are Gombe United FC, Sporting Supreme FC, Mighty Jets, City FC, Dakkada FC, Abia Comets FC, Gateway FC, First Bank FC, Osun United FC and Rovers Football Club.

‎The Nigeria National League board also expressed appreciation to Nigeria Football Federation President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau for his leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation and his interest in Nigeria National League affairs and to the Nigeria Football Federation Board for their guidance and support.

‎The Nigeria National League (NNL) board thanked Hon. Kunle Soname for believing in the Nigeria National League and for making his facilities at the Remo Stars FC Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State available to host the 2026 Super 4 competition.

‎The Nigeria National League board applauded the working relationship between the Nigeria National League and NALCOMA in the administration of the Nigeria National League. Hoped that the collaboration would be stronger in the 2026/2027 season.

The Nigeria National League board commended the Nigeria Football Federations referees and match commissioners appointment committees for their work during the season while saying that they can still improve.

‎The Nigeria National League (NNL) board proposed July or early August 2026 as the likely time for its Annual General Meeting, with the host state to be announced later and passed a vote of confidence, on Nigeria National League Chairman Mr. George Aluo for his transparency leadership style and the transformation he has brought to the Nigeria National League.
