Fubara Celebrates Mothers For Nurturing Future Leaders

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has joined the Nigerian in celebrating Mothering Sunday. The 51-year-old congratulated all mothers in the state in a statement made available to newsmen by Onwuka Nzeshi, his Chief Press Secretary on Sunday.

In the statement filled with amusement, the governor honoured women as they demonstrated their strength, resilience, and determination to nurture their children, who are poised to lead the nation. On behalf of the government, Fubara praised mothers across the state for their selfless love, care, and sacrifice.

Furthermore, the former Permanent Secretary stated that their unrelenting dedication to shaping families and communities is the foundation of our society.On Mothering Sunday, Fubara extended a warm welcome to all mothers in Rivers State, speaking on behalf of the government and people.

The Port City News (TCPN) reported that Mothering Sunday is a significant religious and social event in Nigeria, taking place on the fourth Sunday of Lent in many churches, particularly those affiliated with the Anglican Communion.

Traditionally, the day is reserved to pay tribute to mothers and their maternal leaders, with family gatherings, gift-giving opportunities, and special recognition for the contributions of mothers to society and the lives they have made. Throughout the country, churches offer special services to mark the occasion, as per this newspaper.The special services were held to show appreciation for mothers.
