Grammy-winning global Afrobeats icon Burna Boy has made a stunning massive holiday season donation. The superstar gifted $100,000—a whopping 150 million naira—to controversial online personality and activist Martins Vincent Otse, better known as Very Dark Man, for a charitable mission.
Very Dark Man announced the surprise on his Facebook page this weekend. “This is about a new lease on life,” the online figure declared, detailing the equal split of the funds.
N75 million allocated to pay off court fines for inmates across the country, targeting those stuck behind bars over sums as low as 30,000 naira. The other 75 million naira is destined to clear the hospital bills of patients in government-owned facilities.
In his social media reveal, Very Dark Man shared his operational strategy, stating an intention to collect data from all 36 states to ensure the prisoner release funds reach far and wide.

He emphasized that the money is already in his possession, with formal documentation now being arranged to process the releases and bill payments.
The post culminated in a heartfelt shout-out to the musician, acknowledging the weight of trust placed in him:
“Thank you Burna Boy for this kind gesture. God bless you. And thank you for trusting me with this money, believing that I will carry out this project,” Very Dark Man said.
This places social media commentator Very Dark Man in a role as the executor of a major humanitarian project, proving that in Nigeria’s vibrant entertainment scene, the most compelling stories sometimes happen off the stage.
