itel Bags Award at NiTA 2025

itel has strengthened its position in Nigeria’s budget and mid-range smartphone market with the SUPER 26 Ultra winning the “Best Curved Display and AI-Powered Smartphone of the Year” at the 2025 Nigeria Technology Awards. The event, organised by Beta Media Group, took place on December 6 at the VirginRose Resort in Victoria Island, Lagos, and brought together leaders across the tech industry.

The award recognises the SUPER 26 Ultra’s curved display design and its AI-driven features that enhance photography, performance, personalization and device security. The model has been praised for delivering premium-level specifications at accessible pricing, reinforcing itel’s strategy of targeting young and value-driven consumers.

Dolapo Olorun-nimbe, ATL Marketing Manager at itel Mobile Nigeria, said the award reflects the company’s goal of expanding access to advanced technology. She noted that the device showcases itel’s effort to blend style, innovation and affordability.

PR Supervisor Terngu Simeon Shagba added that the recognition boosts the brand’s credibility and aligns with efforts to strengthen trust and visibility in the market. He said the award validates the company’s direction in delivering value-focused smartphones.

The achievement marks itel’s second major recognition for the device in 2025. On November 13, the SUPER 26 Ultra was named the “Best Curved Display Phone Under ₦260,000” at the Africa Tech Alliance Excellence Awards.

With these milestones, itel continues to position itself as a technology empowerment brand in emerging markets. The company says it remains committed to developing devices that support digital inclusion and provide reliable, user-friendly experiences for consumers across Africa.
