‎WhatsApp Introduces Voice Messaging for Missed Calls

‎WhatsApp is reportedly ready to launch its calling features by introducing a new option that allows users to leave voice messages after missed calls. This functionality, reminiscent of traditional voicemail systems, aims to streamline communication for users who may not be able to answer calls.

‎At the moment, this option is being taken out for iOS devices, including Android devices. Alongside this update, WhatsApp is also revamping its calls tab to improve user experience.

New Voice Messaging Feature

It also rolled out a feature that allows users to record and send voice messages when their calls are not answered. This new functionality, referred to as the ‘Record voice message’ button, is visible directly on the call screen. This advancement removes the necessity for users to terminate a call, switch to the chat window, and manually dispatch an audio note.

‎ Instead, users can swiftly convey their message, facilitating a clearer understanding for recipients regarding the intent of the call without the delay of a text message. Reports suggest that WhatsApp is also developing a comparable feature for video calls, enabling users to send brief video messages if a video call goes unanswered.

‎Revamped Calls Tab

‎Alongside the voice messaging capability, WhatsApp is revamping its Calls tab to enhance user experience. The redesigned interface merges voice and video call functionalities into a single call hub.

‎This new configuration presents four main options at the top: a Call button for starting individual or group calls with up to 31 participants, a Scheduling button for organizing calls, a Keypad button for dialing numbers directly through WhatsApp, and a Favourites section for easy access to frequently contacted numbers. This redesign aims to simplify how users handle their calls within the application.
