Cash-out; Rivers United To Get 100k Per Goal

In a bid to motivate the team ahead of their maiden appearance in the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League, Sandaling Atlantic Aviation Limited has announced a cash reward for players who find the back of the net.

The Port City News earlier reported that the Pride of Rivers was drawn in Group A of the tournament.

They are set to face defending champions Pyramids FC of Egypt, RS Berkane of Morocco, the current CAF Confederation Cup holders and Zambian giants Power Dynamos FC.

Daniel Cromwell, Managing Director of Sandaling Atlantic Aviation Limited, announced on Tuesday that a cash reward of ₦100,000 would be given to any player who scores a goal during the tournament.

Cromwell explained that the initiative was part of the company’s commitment to promoting excellence in sports and supporting community development.

Expressing his support for the team, Cromwell added that the company was doing its best, as passionate fans, to ensure the players remain well motivated.

“This is to ensure the stay motivated as they’ll be playing against some of the best teams in Africa. We believe that our support will encourage the players to push even harder and showcase the best of Nigerian football to Africa.” 

Cromwell stated that the monetary reward would cover all matches played by the team throughout the campaign, including both home and away fixtures.

This newspaper reported that the team manager, Finidi George said they are ready to test themselves against Africa’s elite clubs.

He described the draw as a good but challenging one, noting that any team aiming for success in the tournament must be prepared to face the best at some stage.

According to him, the Pride of Rivers will step up preparations when the time comes, but for now, the team’s focus remains on their domestic league fixtures.
