The Executive Director of the Ogoni Liberation Initiative, Dr. Douglas Fabeke, has commended Engr. (Chief) Clement Aghogho Ucho for his conferment as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers (NIPetGE), describing him as a paragon of ethical stewardship and leadership in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The conferment ceremony, held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, brought together distinguished figures in petroleum engineering, energy policy, and industrial innovation. The event marked a celebration of excellence, integrity, and visionary service in the nation’s energy sector.

Hailing from Edjekota-Ogor in Ughelli North, Delta State, Engr. Ucho’s professional journey spans over two decades across global oilfields. He began his career at Schlumberger Limited, rising through the ranks to supervisory positions before taking up strategic roles at Tecon Oil Servicing Company, OilSERV in Iraq, Halliburton Energy Services, and Baker Hughes in Ghana.
He later returned to Nigeria as Country Manager at Librod Energy Services and is now the founder of MC Ucho Nigeria Limited, a fully indigenous oil and gas services company.
A holder of degrees from the Petroleum Training Institute, the University of Port Harcourt, the University of Ibadan, and Enugu State University of Technology, Ucho combines academic excellence with technical expertise and strategic foresight.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is known for his philanthropy, sponsoring students at various educational levels, and holds two traditional titles “Mene Zaasi of Ogoni Land and Geredekeme of Kercbiri Mein.
The fellowship honour, administered by Prof. Michael Onyekonwu, underscores Engr. Ucho’s commitment to integrity, mentorship, and national development, inspiring a new generation of leaders in the petroleum sector.
