The Bayelsa State Volunteers Security Outfit has apprehended and paraded two suspects in connection with a robbery incident that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, October 15, 2025, along Justice Tabai Street, Edepie, in Yenagoa, the state capital.
The suspects were identified as 37-year-old Mr Larry Fawdy from Southern Ijaw Local Government Area and 41-year-old Mr Yerin Tabai from Ekeremor Local Government Area.
They were arrested following their alleged involvement in the theft of 16 scaffolding iron pipes from a hotel under renovation, owned by Justice Tabai.
Both men, who reside on Justice Tabai Street in Edepie, are reportedly affiliated with known cult groups.
According to a report received by the Bayelsa State Volunteers, the suspects unlawfully entered the hotel premises and carted away scaffolding materials worth several thousands of naira.

Acting swiftly on the report, the Chairman of the security outfit, High Chief Lucky Asanakpo, ordered an immediate investigation, which led to the tracking and arrest of the alleged culprits.
The suspects were apprehended and taken to the Etegwe/Tombia operational base for interrogation, where they were said to have confessed to committing the crime.
In line with standard protocol, the suspects have been transferred to the Doo Akpo Police Unit for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Bayelsa State Volunteers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of all residents across the state.
