South-South NYCN Leaders Resolve Rivers Chapter Crisis, Affirm Bani’s Leadership

The lingering leadership crisis rocking the Rivers State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has been resolved following a peace and reconciliation meeting convened by the Council’s South-South leadership.

The meeting, which took place on October 9, 2025, was presided over by High Chief Mayor Chinedu Enujeko, a former National President of the NYCN. It brought together key stakeholders and youth leaders from across the South-South region to deliberate on the way forward for the Rivers State Chapter.

After extensive dialogue and consultations, the South-South stakeholders unanimously recognized Comr. (Dr.) Nwisabari Bani Samuel as the legitimate Chairman of the NYCN Rivers State Chapter.

As part of the peace accord, Amb. Chimenem Worlu was also nominated for a national appointment and included in the Rivers delegation to the forthcoming National Congress to promote inclusivity and unity among all stakeholders.

The South-South leadership declared that all lingering disputes and factional issues within the Rivers State Chapter have now been amicably resolved, marking what they described as a “new era of peace, progress, and collective advancement” for the youth constituency in the state.

In a strong statement, the zonal leadership warned sponsors of divisions and crises within the Council to desist from further interference, stressing that the South-South leadership would no longer tolerate any form of factional activity in the region.
