Obio/Akpor Chairman Validates Odibola Land Title, Ending Estate Dispute

The Chairman of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Gift Okorie Worlu, has officially cleared Odibola Properties Limited of land-grabbing allegations, confirming the company’s legitimate ownership of the disputed Peace Park Estate land along the Obiri-Ikwerre axis. The resolution, reached after a transparent investigation by the council, is expected to restore investor confidence in the local real estate sector.

The controversy arose after a few individuals, purportedly Rumuikini youth leaders, attempted to disrupt development and spread misinformation claiming the company had encroached on community land.

Speaking to journalists following a resolution meeting, Mr. Bolaji Oshobukola, CEO of Odibola Properties, reaffirmed his company’s position, stating the land was legally acquired from a group of medical doctors with the full knowledge and approval of the authentic Rumuikini community leaders.

“The Obio/Akpor Local Government Chairman, Hon. Gift Okorie Worlu, has personally verified and confirmed that Odibola Properties legitimately owns the land,” Mr. Oshobukola stated, adding that the chairman’s conclusion “puts to rest the false claims being spread by land grabbers.”

The company stressed that its ownership is secured by “full legal backing” and that no court has issued any injunction to halt construction. This confirmation of due process by the local authority is viewed as a vital step toward securing property rights for investors in the LGA.

The public resolution is critical for the Rivers State business environment. Land disputes often deter private developers, hindering infrastructural growth. Mr. Anthony, a company representative, seized the opportunity to urge the state government to commit to creating a more “investor-friendly environment” to attract private capital needed for housing and infrastructure projects.

Further bolstering the company’s position, a respected Rumuekini youth leader, known as Apostle, lent credence to the LGA Chairman’s findings, confirming that the elders of Rumuekini are aware of the transaction and have granted the company their “blessing” to proceed.

With the Local Government and community elders now aligned in support of Odibola Properties, the company is set to resume full-scale development, advising the public to disregard online misinformation and assuring prospective clients of its credibility and capacity to deliver modern housing projects.
