The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Eze Hon. Charles Wobodo, on Friday led a high-powered delegation on a continuation of the council’s ongoing town hall meetings across the area.
The visit took the chairman and his entourage to his home town Omuanwa (ward 7), Ubima (Ward 8), and Ozuoha (Ward 11), where they interacted with residents and expressed appreciation for their support during the last elections.
Hon. Wobodo was accompanied by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Ethel Kinika, described by party loyalists as radiant and charismatic, as well as Hon. Prince Lemchi Nyeche, member representing Ikwerre Constituency in the Rivers State 10th Legislative Assembly. Also in attendance were the PDP State Woman Leader, Hon. Mrs. Mirian Ogbonna, alongside other party stalwarts.
Speaking at the events, the council chairman said the “Thank You” visit was not only to acknowledge the confidence reposed in his administration but also to strengthen grassroots engagement. He noted that the town hall meetings were designed to provide a platform for residents to voice their pressing needs and concerns directly to their leaders.

According to him, the third tier of government has a responsibility to identify the needs of the people and fashion out practical solutions to alleviate poverty, hunger, and other challenges.
Residents of the communities commended the initiative, describing it as a demonstration of responsive and inclusive governance.
The exercise, which began few days ago, is expected to cover all wards in the LGA.
