Celebrity nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has expressed frustration over the state of healthcare in Nigeria, recounting a troubling personal experience that left him disillusioned with the system.
In a post he described how he visited a hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, where no doctor was available for over an hour despite being visibly ill.
“Walked into a hospital I’ve been using in Ikoyi for years sick. After vitals, it’s over an hour plus and no doctor is available,” he wrote.
He explained that he eventually had to seek care at another hospital in Lekki, where he was required to fill out a lengthy online form before receiving attention. Frustrated by the delays and lack of immediate care, he resorted to buying medication for typhoid and malaria on his own.

“Honestly, healthcare is a joke in this country… It’s a shame. Na God dey save person for this country,” he added.
While he refrained from naming the hospitals involved, Cubana Chief Priest acknowledged the challenges doctors face, suggesting that the issue is systemic rather than isolated.
His post has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians echoing similar experiences and calling for urgent reforms in the country’s healthcare infrastructure. The incident highlights the growing concern over access, efficiency, and quality of medical services—even in highbrow areas like Ikoyi and Lekki.
