As emergency rule comes to an end in Rivers State on 18th September, Sir Siminalaye Fubara has been called upon to ensure peace building mechanism and inclusive governance for sustainable Development in the State.
The call was made by the Chancellor, International Society for Social Justice and Human Rights, Dr. Omenazu Jackson as the State awaits the return to democratic governance after six months of emergency rule.
“The governor and legislature must operate with mutual respect regular dialogue and a shared agenda without any synergy development will suffer and the people will remain a victim of political division.” Dr. Jackson said.
Dr. Jackson urged the governor to give top priority to infrastructure projects and youth empowerment, stressing that development must be both visible and people-oriented.

“We emphasize that rivers people expect urgent intervention that will make governance meaningful and impactful with the end of emergency rule approaching rivers people will no longer be patient with excuses the governor must prioritize infrastructure youth empowerment and infrastructure development must be visble and also people driven.” He added.
Commenting on relations between the legislative and executive arms of government, he appealed for an end to political rifts, insisting that both sides must bury their differences and work together for the good of the state.
Rivers State has been under the emergency rule since March 18, 2025
