ANDRITZ Launches ExMax S1021 Extrusion Machine

International technology group ANDRITZ has introduced its latest development for the global feed industry, the ExMax S1021 Extrusion Machine.

The launch, held at the VICTAM LATAM trade event in São Paulo, underscores the company’s commitment to advancing efficiency, sustainability, and quality in the production of pet food and aqua feed.

The ExMax S1021 was designed in response to increasing global demand for safer, higher-quality, and more sustainable animal nutrition.

According to ANDRITZ, the machine allows feed producers to achieve consistent output, reduced operating costs, and improved food safety, while also minimizing downtime.

One of the standout features of the extruder is its hygienic construction. Stainless-steel components simplify cleaning, reducing the risk of cross-contamination, an important factor for manufacturers in the pet food and aquaculture sectors.

In addition, the ExMax S1021 integrates advanced automation technologies, including the company’s patented DensiFlex™ system.

This innovation automates the cooking and expansion process, ensuring product uniformity and reducing the margin for human error.

Danny Cummins, Head of Product Management at ANDRITZ Feed & Biofuel, emphasized the extruder’s role in helping producers maintain high standards.

“The ExMax S1021 is not just about boosting capacity—it’s about giving feed producers more control, cleaner operations, and consistent product quality,” Cummins explained.

He added that the technology is specifically designed to help companies remain competitive in fast-growing markets where food safety and sustainability are critical drivers.

Beyond consistency, the ExMax S1021 is also engineered for versatility. The system can process a wide range of feed formulations, enabling producers to adapt to evolving consumer and market demands.

This flexibility, combined with hygienic design and automation, makes the machine particularly valuable for companies looking to safeguard brand reputation while meeting stringent regulatory standards.

With the launch of the ExMax S1021, ANDRITZ is positioning itself at the forefront of feed processing innovation, offering equipment that balances performance, sustainability, and reliability in one package.
