Media personality and entrepreneur Toke Makinwa has announced the birth of her daughter, marking a new chapter in her personal life. In a heartfelt statement shared on Thursday, August 28, Makinwa expressed profound joy and gratitude, describing the arrival of her child as a divine miracle.
“I’m a Mommy… This is the happiest I’ve ever been,” she wrote, alongside a photo of her newborn’s hand gently clasping her finger.
The baby girl has been named Yakira Eliana, with additional Yoruba names that reflect deep spiritual and cultural significance: Olakitan, Iyanuloluwa, Ikeoluwa, and Adunola. Makinwa explained the meanings behind the names, highlighting themes of answered prayers, divine mercy, and personal transformation.
“My precious daughter, the love I never knew existed… I have seen the goodness of God,” she said.

The announcement comes after months of speculation surrounding Makinwa’s journey to motherhood. Earlier this year, she hinted at her pregnancy during a private celebration and later confirmed she was expecting a girl. Known for her openness about personal struggles and triumphs, Makinwa has previously spoken about her desire to become a mother and the emotional path that led her there.
