EFCC takes anti-corruption campaign to schools in Port Harcourt.

A school proprietor, Maclean Chinda, has commended the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for its untiring efforts in tackling the menace of corrupt practices in the country.

He gave the commendation while responding to the Students’ Anti-Corruption Campaign Initiatives of the EFCC, which held in his School Hall.

According to him, the EFCC has raised the bar in its sensitization and awareness campaigns against corrupt practices. “We all need to rise against corrupt practices. Evil is evil and we must all condemn it. The people of Choba and suburbs appreciate the good works of the EFCC in creating awareness about the menace of corruption. We are grateful and we will spread the message far that corruption is evil”, he said.

Chinda was among scores of students that were sensitized to the ills of corrupt practices by Head of Public Affairs, Port Harcourt Office, Mr. Dele Oyewale.

Students were taken through some dangers of economic and financial crimes such as poverty, unemployment, infrastructural shortages, low life expectancies, environmental damage among others. “As students, you must know that examinations malpractices and internet fraud are corrupt practices with untold consequences for you and the entire society. You must avoid dishonesty and criminal behaviours”, he said. He later inaugurated an Integrity Club in the School.

Some of the students that responded called for more effective enforcement of extant laws against corrupt practices and inculcation of sound moral values on the youths.

Joseph Umoh, Secretary of the School’s Integrity Club said that school children with sound moral values are bound to grow up as responsible adults.

“The EFCC must not relent in its campaign that right things should always be done. We will always support the anti-corruption fight”, he said.
