Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, currently serving as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, has been selected as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His emergence followed a seamless nomination and subsequent election by members of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) today.

The nomination for the top party role came from Governor Hope Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum. His motion received immediate support and a second from Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Following the formal nomination and seconding, the motion was put to a voice vote among NEC members and was overwhelmingly passed, confirming Yilwatda’s ascent to the party’s leadership.
