‎He explained that the Defendant Inspector Atausen Luke, who was detained for more than eight months, was also dismissed from the Nigerian Police Force following the kidnap allegations and prayed the Inspector General of Police to restore him to his job following his acquittal by the court of law

‎Delivering his judgement, Justice Wordu said the prosecutors did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused was guilty of the crime he was accused of, as the only evidence linking him was not provided in evidence. The witnesses who testified to be present at the scene of the crime did not see the accused at the crime scene.
