Manchester United’s search for potential strikers is becoming limited with Viktor Gyokeres’ imminent transfer to Arsenal, leaving Victor Osimhen as the sole prominent name.
Victor Osimhen was previously the ideal striker target for Man Utd, but financial constraints have allowed other clubs to gain an advantage in securing his signature.
Since that time, United has primarily remained a passive observer as the Osimhen bidding war has shifted between Saudi Arabia and Galatasaray.
Nevertheless, recent reports have indicated that United may be poised to make a significant late move to hijack the transfer of the Nigerian striker just as the Turkish club was nearing an agreement.
Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest updates on this situation.
Given that United has been negotiating over Bryan Mbeumo for over a month, only the most optimistic Man Utd supporters would have believed in the possibility of hijacking Osimhen.
However, the striker position urgently requires reinforcements, and the slight chance of United feigning financial limitations only to act decisively was too tempting to dismiss entirely.
Thus, when news surfaced about a potential United hijack for Osimhen, fans eagerly embraced it, driven by both hope and delusion!

He stated: “Reports regarding Man Utd hijacking the deal from Galatasaray for Victor Osimhen, from what I have been informed, are not accurate.
“Osimhen is progressing towards a transfer to Galatasaray. A €75m deal is in place. Now, Napoli must provide final approval. Galatasaray is becoming increasingly confident about signing Osimhen.
“New discussions will occur in the upcoming week. Man Utd is not involved in this narrative, nor these discussions, particularly because Galatasaray will offer Osimhen a substantial salary – €16m per season.
“Man Utd was never going to be in a position to match those salary figures. Forget about the hijack.
