Nollywood Actress Speaks on Disappearance From Screen

Veteran Nollywood actress, Moji Afolayan, has finally disclosed the reason behind her sudden absence from the screen for more than ten years. Reports indicate that her disappearance raised concerns among fans and netizens regarding her well-being and location.

In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Moji explained to her fans that she was blacklisted by film marketers after she declined their sexual propositions. The actress also mentioned that many married actresses trade sex for movie roles.

“In the past, marketers used to provide financial support to producers. However, after I resisted their sexual advances, they convened a meeting among themselves and decided not to engage me for work.

“I chose not to sleep with any of them, as I refuse to barter my body for film roles. It’s a matter of principle for me. I’m aware that they will see this interview. Numerous actresses are involved in this; they often bring their husbands along to wait outside while they go in to meet the marketers. I’m revealing their secrets now.

Marketers turned them into stars; their posters were everywhere. However, I’m grateful that I maintained my dignity. That is what I am reaping today. They withheld movie roles from me because I didn’t offer myself for sex.

Although it impacted my earnings and fame, I value my body more than anything else. Even my husband is aware of this.

“They now understand the situation since they have made us popular on social media. We have begun to promote our films on YouTube without any marketers,” she stated.
