Residents and shop owners in Isiokpo community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, have welcomed council chairman Charles Wobodo’s restoration of electricity, saying they hope it will improve living conditions and boost business.
Speaking to our correspondent, they said the community had been without power for more than eight years, a situation that drove many businesses out of the area.

They said the return of electricity would reduce reliance on generators, cut fuel costs, help business owners preserve food and drinks, and make it easier for residents to use household appliances.
They thanked Wobodo for the intervention and added that restoring power had also improved security in the community.
