The Senate of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has expelled a final-year student in the Department of English and Literary Studies, Miss Chiamaka Nora Onyewuenyi, over social media posts about her final-year project.
In a statement, the university’s Public Relations Officer, Dr Ngozi Okiridu, said Onyewuenyi claimed online that her project topic was Citizenship and that her supervisor wrote the project for her.

The university said the expulsion was meant to serve as a warning to other students.
Dr Okiridu added that the university tried to persuade the student to withdraw her comments, but she refused. According to the statement, she also reportedly admitted that her earlier claims were untrue and were made only to create social media content.
