Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, yesterday accompanied Vice President Kashim Shettima to the Nigeria House in the United States, where the Vice President held an engagement with members of the Nigerian diaspora community.
The meeting focused on national development and the role of Nigerians living abroad in contributing to the growth and transformation of the country.
Speaking during the engagement, Vice President Shettima called on Nigerians in the diaspora, particularly those in the United States, to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in its efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s economy and drive national development.

Shettima said the administration was working to reposition critical sectors, including education, healthcare, science and technology, and agriculture.
He also emphasised the importance of tapping into the knowledge, expertise and intellectual capacity of Nigerians in the diaspora, describing them as an important resource in advancing the country’s development.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the government and members of the diaspora community to discuss ways of strengthening their partnership and harnessing the contributions of Nigerians abroad towards national growth.
