The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to honour Moses Simon ahead of his landmark 100th appearance for the Super Eagles.
The winger is expected to reach the milestone when Nigeria hosts Madagascar in a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Friday.
Simon made his senior debut for the Super Eagles in March 2015 during an international friendly against Uganda, replacing Anthony Ujah in the second half.
Over the past decade, the Paris FC star has grown into one of Nigeria’s most reliable and experienced players, featuring prominently in major tournaments and qualification campaigns.
The 31-year-old has made 99 appearances for the three-time African champions, with 64 coming in competitive matches and 35 in international friendlies.
Simon has also been a regular presence at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he has made 23 appearances, while featuring in 22 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
During his international career, the winger has scored 11 goals and provided several important contributions for the national team.
Reaching 100 caps would place Simon among a select group of players to achieve the feat for Nigeria, underlining his consistency and longevity at the highest level.
The planned recognition by the NFF is expected to celebrate not only the milestone itself but also Simon’s dedication and service to Nigerian football over the years.
All eyes will be on Uyo on Friday as the experienced winger prepares to join the century club in Super Eagles colours.
