The Nigerian Navy has foiled the reactivation of illegal refining sites in the Okolomade general area of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The operation led to the recovery of three hundred and fifty liters of Automotive Gas Oil, also referred to as diesel, as the operators fled on sighting the Naval team and left their operational equipment.

According to the Nigerian Navy, the operation was carried out by the Nigerian Navy Ship Soroh with headquarters in Bayelsa State, and was done through credible intelligence.
The Recovered products, according to the Nigerian Navy, were handled in accordance with established operational procedures in line with the directives of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas.
The operation is a continuous one until crude oil theft and other Criminality are brought to the barest minimum in the state and Niger Delta, at large, the Navy said
