Nigeria’s representative at the 73rd Miss World pageant, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has advanced to the Top 12 at the competition held in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The 26-year-old communications specialist secured her place among the Top 12 finalists after an impressive run at the global pageant, which concluded on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Karibi-George had earlier earned an automatic spot in the Top 40 after winning the Miss World Africa Top Model title during the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest.
She subsequently advanced to the Top 20 before securing a place in the Top 12 during the live finale.
The global Miss World 2026 crown was won by Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic, who succeeded the outgoing winner, Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand.
Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés emerged as first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty was named second runner-up.
Throughout the month-long pageant activities, Karibi-George showcased her advocacy initiative, Beyond Labels, which focuses on creating accessible resources, social support and inclusive spaces for children living with disabilities across Nigeria.
Her advocacy formed part of the pageant’s Beauty with a Purpose programme, which highlights contestants’ community-focused initiatives and social impact projects.
Karibi-George’s Top 12 finish marks another notable performance for Nigeria at the Miss World competition, following Joy Mojisola Raimi’s Top 20 placement at the previous edition.
Her achievement also comes after she represented Nigeria following her earlier victory as Miss World Nigeria.
