NNPC Gas & Power Investment Services (NGPIS) has obtained the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification, which is intended to enhance its performance and increase its competitiveness in the energy industry.
ISO 9001 is a quality management system that certifies a company’s efforts to provide quality services and adopt international management standards.
The certification was handed over to Mr Olalekan Ogunleye, the Executive Vice President, Gas, Power and New Energy of NNPC Limited, by the NGPIS team at NNPC Towers in Abuja. The ceremony was conducted by the Head of Planning and Commercial of NGPIS, Ayuba Rabo.
The National Gas Pipeline Importing & Services Plc (NGPIS) explained that the certification came after a stringent process that started in December 2024, including internal and external audits, process improvement and the creation of a better quality management system.
The Quality Management System department headed by Okeoghene Esugo oversaw the entire process of implementation, which ended successfully in certification.
The NGPIS stated that gaining ISO 9001:2015 means its efforts to meet international standards and increase efficiency through better service delivery.
Furthermore, the company indicated that the certification will enable it to be seen as an internationally recognized energy company and one that can compete effectively in the global market.
NGPIS stated that the accomplishment will aid in meeting the strategic goals of NNPC Limited through operational excellence and enhanced service delivery in Nigeria’s evolving energy sector.
