The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the resolutions reached at the 2025 Nigeria-Germany Bi-national Commission as both countries move to deepen cooperation in trade, energy, investment and other strategic sectors.
The commitment was reiterated during bilateral talks in Abuja between Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and Germany’s Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, as both nations explored new opportunities to strengthen their long-standing partnership.
Speaking during the meeting, Odumegwu-Ojukwu described Wadephul’s visit as another important step in advancing relations between Nigeria and Germany.
She said the Federal Government remains focused on implementing the outcomes of the 2025 Nigeria-Germany Bi-national Commission, which serves as a platform for reviewing ongoing collaborations, resolving outstanding issues and identifying new areas of mutual interest.
According to the minister, the commission remains a key mechanism for driving bilateral cooperation in line with the changing economic and development priorities of both countries.

On his part, Wadephul said the latest agreements reached by Nigeria and Germany cover several strategic sectors, including critical raw materials, renewable energy, the pharmaceutical industry and biometric technology.
He noted that the new areas of cooperation are expected to strengthen economic ties, encourage investment and create fresh opportunities for businesses and institutions in both countries.
The Federal Government also reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with Germany on migration management, vocational education and security cooperation, describing the partnership as vital to Nigeria’s broader development agenda.
It expressed optimism that increased German investment would complement ongoing economic reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration, improve the country’s investment climate and support efforts to promote sustainable development and climate action.
The renewed engagement reflects the commitment of both countries to expanding economic cooperation and building a stronger partnership capable of delivering long-term benefits for their citizens and economies.
