2027: Fubara Backs Kingsley Chinda, Pledges Full Support for Wike-Led Rainbow Coalition

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has formally endorsed the Rainbow Coalition, a multi-party political movement spearheaded by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

He declared his alignment with Kingsley Chinda as his preferred governorship candidate for the forthcoming state governorship election.

Fubara made this known during the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction and equipping of Riven Medical Facility, a pharmaceutical production venture powered by a public-private partnership.

Fubara urged his supporters to give complete backing to Chinda and all other candidates contesting on the coalition’s platform. He similarly identified President Bola Tinubu as his candidate of choice for the presidency.

Addressing the political climate in the state, the governor asserted that previous political conflicts have ended, emphasizing that unity and stability are essential to driving regional development.

He brushed aside suggestions from political stakeholders urging him to postpone joining the movement, clarifying that he has fully integrated into the political family.

He warned against any actions capable of fostering division, adding that he will not associate with any agenda that threatens the state’s peaceful environment.

Turning to the state’s economic initiatives, Fubara reassured citizens of his administration’s unwavering commitment to executing the pharmaceutical project.

He explained that his approval came after thorough assurances from project managers and state officials regarding its economic feasibility and completion schedule.

He disclosed that the first phase of the medical facility is slated for delivery within three months. The governor framed the factory as a key strategic development expected to jumpstart local manufacturing, generate job opportunities, draw domestic and foreign clients, and attract auxiliary businesses to the host area.

Furthermore, Fubara promised full government backing for the investors and appealed to the host community to maintain a supportive working relationship with the contractors.

He noted that the administration is actively taking steps to prevent contractual disagreements that might discourage private capital, highlighting that the state is currently navigating litigations with various firms totaling over ₦200 billion.

The governor assured stakeholders that his administration will monitor construction progress closely to ensure the initial phase is ready for inauguration within the three-month target.
