28-year-old Mr Ebitimi David has been arrested by the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit following his alleged involvement in armed robbery.
David, a native of Peremabiri Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state, resides at 1st Bossywater Street.
He was arrested and paraded by the security outfit on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, as an armed robbery suspect.
Chairman of the state volunteer security outfit, High Chief Oyinkuro Lucky Asanakpo, who spoke on the arrest, reaffirmed the outfit’s commitment to supporting security agencies to rid the state of criminality.

Asanakpo assured residents of the state that the group would not relent but would ensure the safety of their lives and property.
The outfit’s chairman also reminded residents of their own responsibilities. According to him, residents are expected to remain vigilant and provide useful information that will assist security agencies in combating crime across the state.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is allegedly a member of a cult group and has been linked to a series of armed robbery incidents within Yenagoa and its environs.
It noted that “among the reported cases is the alleged robbery of an iPhone 16 Pro Max, stolen at gunpoint opposite Tonimas Filling Station, Edepie, along the wooden bridge leading to Osiri Road on 20th June, 2026.
“The owner of the phone, God’spower Kingdom, a 19-year-old from Deibu, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, reported the incident to the authorities.
“The suspect is also alleged to have robbed Mr. Simon Wisdom Perekeme, aged 17, of a Samsung A14 at gunpoint during the first week of June 2026 at about 2:00 p.m.

“Investigations further revealed that one of the suspect’s alleged accomplices, identified as Preye, who is said to reside around the NIIT area, is currently at large.”
The team further gave the assurance that security operatives have intensified efforts to apprehend him.
According to the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit, “the suspect had been on the agency’s watch list since February 2026 over his alleged involvement in numerous criminal activities before his eventual arrest on 15th July, 2026.
“Following preliminary interrogation, the suspect was handed over to the Nigerian Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.”
