According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who broke the news through his official X handle, this development is based on reliable intelligence information about the operation.
From the reports, the raid was carried out on July 13, when the security officers managed to get actionable intelligence concerning the whereabouts of the suspects.
The raids managed to make a significant breakthrough when one of the suspects, who had been previously arrested by the military, showed the soldiers where they could find the hidden weapons.
In the process of the raid, the soldiers managed to seize one Beretta AR-70 assault rifle and 45 rounds of 5.56mm live ammunition, which had been concealed for use in criminal acts.
The recovered weapon and ammunition were handed over to the military authorities for further investigations.
While there were no reports of further arrests from the operation, intelligence sources revealed that some suspected gang members managed to escape before the troops reached the area.
Residents have been called upon to assist the security agencies by giving information that will help in the arrest of the criminals, as well as recover their illegal weapons.
No statement has been issued by the military about the operation carried out; however, security officials claim that the investigation is still underway, and the process of arresting the rest of the criminals continues.
