The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Port Harcourt Operations Office, has distributed relief items to the households affected by the rains and windstorm which happened recently in Bundu, Borokiri, and Amadi-Ama communities in Port Harcourt City LGA, Rivers State.
The distribution process was done recently through an initiative by the NEMA group headed by Mr. Ifeanyi Omeje in collaboration with the Rivers State Emergency Management Agency (RIVSEMA), Port Harcourt City LGA, and other relevant stakeholders.

The relief intervention has been made with the objective of providing immediate humanitarian relief to the affected households.
During the distribution, Mr. Ogbanga of Engr., on behalf of the Rivers State Government, thanked the Federal Government and Mrs. Zubaida Umar, DG of NEMA, for their approval of this relief intervention. It is seen as a timely intervention that will ease the effects of the disaster and provide relief to the victims of the disaster.
This exercise was done in a joint supervision process involving NEMA, RIVSEMA, the Local Government Council, and other stakeholders to ensure that the process was transparent and accountable.
The exercise is another effort by NEMA in its humanitarian intervention towards assisting communities affected by disasters.
