The National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Rivers State, has sanctioned 44 corps members out of the 2,361 corps members deployed to the state under the 2025 Batch B Stream 1.
This was revealed to TPCN on Thursday, July 9, 2026, by the state NYSC Public Relations Officer, Mr. Christian Okereke, shortly after the low-key passing out parade, held at the Isaac Boro Park, Port Harcourt.
Okereke noted that out of the 46 sanctioned, 35 corps members made up of 21 males and 14 females are to serve extension of service while nine made up of seven males and two females will repeat the entire service year.
Addressing the corps members during the POP, the state NYSC Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe, urged them to continue to uphold the ideals of NYSC as they climb the ladder of life.
His words: “Remember the ideals of patriotism, discipline, honesty, integrity, commitment and dedication to duty; imbibe and uphold them in your daily lives in order to build a successful life and career.”
The state NYSC boss highly commended two corps members; a male and female for making the scheme proud by wining State Honours Award.
Further, he appreciated the governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for what he described as his tremendous support to the scheme.
Oleghe also thanked the people of the state for creating a conducive environment for corps members to excel, even as he appealed for sustenance.
He added that, “the service year recorded zero death to the glory of God.”
