Asari-Toru Local Government Area (LGAs) Executive Chairman, Hon. George Onengiyeofori, DSSRS, PhD, has called for unity and collaboration among the Asari-Toru Primary Health Care Management Board (PHCMB) staff.
During a recent meeting with key members of PHCMB staff, the executive chairman stressed his administration’s willingness to make concerted efforts to develop the local health system through team work and efficient service delivery.
The executive chairman sees the PHCMB as an important organ in ensuring access to good quality and cheap healthcare services by the local residents, and therefore expects management and its staff to be dedicated to their responsibilities and working in harmony with each other.

He emphasized that for any improvements to be made in regard to healthcare services, there is need for teamwork and collective contribution and that the welfare of Asari-Toru people will remain a key concern of his administration.
Following the style of inclusive leadership, Hon. Onengiyeofori gave the opportunity to staff members to contribute their views concerning operational problems faced by PHCMB and suggestions on how to improve healthcare services in the area.
However, interactive sessions were held where issues on ways of improving the effectiveness of the Board’s operations and overcoming problems that face healthcare professionals were discussed.
The meeting was concluded by a resolution made by the chairman and the management of the Primary Health Care Management Board to increase cooperation with each other and work together towards the development of an efficient primary health care system for the residents of Asari-Toru Local Government Area.
