The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State Council, has nominated the President of KAGOTE and Chief Executive Officer of Giolee Global Resources Limited, Chief Lesi Maol, as its South-South Zonal Patron.
The Chairman of the Council, Comrade Paul Bazia-Nsaneh, presented the letter of nomination during a courtesy visit by members of the State Executive to Chief Maol’s corporate headquarters, Tambari House, Eneka, Port Harcourt.
Bazia-Nsaneh said the nomination was in recognition of Chief Maol’s numerous philanthropic contributions and investments, which he noted have created employment opportunities for many residents of Rivers State.
He highlighted the businessman’s interventions in economic empowerment, education, community development, infrastructure support, and assistance to vulnerable members of society as key reasons for the honour.

The NUJ chairman also expressed the union’s readiness to partner with Chief Maol in promoting developmental initiatives through effective dissemination of information to the public.
He appealed to the KAGOTE President to support the council with a bus to improve the mobility of journalists and facilitate the union’s activities.
Bazia-Nsaneh further called for a sustained partnership between the NUJ and Chief Maol to advance the welfare and professional development of journalists in Rivers State and the South-South region.
Responding, Chief Maol thanked the NUJ leadership for the visit and the nomination, describing the recognition as an honour.
He disclosed that while his business interests are rooted in the oil and gas sector, he is expanding into agriculture to contribute to food security in Rivers State.
Chief Maol added that his investments also span environmental management, entertainment, hospitality, and other private sector ventures. He assured the union that it would give due consideration to its request for support.
