In a determined push to strengthen security and combat crime across state boundaries, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has intensified operational oversight along key routes leading to neighbouring states.
CP Adepoju personally led an extensive monitoring and supervision exercise of police personnel deployed along the Ogoni Road corridor up to the Rivers-Akwa Ibom State boundary on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
At the interstate point, he was received by his Akwa Ibom counterpart, CP Mohammed Baba Azare, and the two senior officers reaffirmed their commitment to enhanced collaboration in tackling criminal activities.
Speaking during the operation, CP Adepoju said that monitoring of officers would remain an ongoing exercise to ensure maximum operational efficiency, discipline, and a visible policing presence.

He stressed that the sustained initiative aims to leave no hiding space for criminals in both states while restoring greater confidence among residents and road users.
The Rivers police boss urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely, credible information on suspicious persons, movements, or activities in their areas.
He assured citizens that the command is fully committed to protecting lives and property through proactive strategies and strong partnerships with neighbouring police commands.
