During the exercise, which was executed by operatives of the Command based on intelligence reports, it led to the arrest of a man named Austine Emenike, alias “Oyibo,” hailing from Aluu in Rivers State.
From him were retrieved one pistol and four single barrel guns as well as five live cartridges.

Initial investigations suggest that the arrested man is involved in a wider gang of criminals and detectives are trying hard to get clues leading to the capture of others in the same gang.
In recognition of the commendable efforts of the operatives during the operation, the Commissioner of Police hailed them for their bravery and dedication to duty while also noting that the seizure is yet another achievement in the ongoing war on violent crimes being waged by the Command.
“This arrest and the recovery of these dangerous weapons underscore our resolve to proactively tackle violent crime and protect the law-abiding people of Rivers State. We will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations until criminal elements are completely rooted out,” CP Adepoju stated.
The police commissioner further encouraged the residents to be vigilant and quickly pass information to security agencies about any suspicious person or activities in the community by using the contacts provided during emergency.
