The people of Ayakoro Community in Bayelsa State on Saturday 13 June 2026 crowned the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the new Paramount Ruler, six months after the demise of their late monarch.
In line with the community’s constitution, the traditional institution installed the Dr. Ogbuku who was the former Deputy Paramount Ruler as Daufa the Sixth, Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro.
The installation, which drew members of the community and other stakeholders, was supervised by the Bayelsa State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Dr. Ogbuku while describing his emergence as a profound vote of confidence and appreciation for years of service to the community said the decision by his people was a clear message that dedicated service does not go unnoticed or unrewarded.

He pledged to lead with humility, dedication, fairness, and integrity, seeking divine guidance to promote peace, unity, and development in the area.
“The events of today remind us that true greatness is rooted in service to humanity,” he said.
Daufa the Sixth also expressed gratitude to the people of Ayakoro for the trust reposed in him, assuring them of his commitment to work with all stakeholders to build a stronger, more prosperous, and united community for the present generation and future ones.
