The Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr. Vetty Agala, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to improving healthcare indices among residents of the state.
Dr. Agala gave the assurance on Friday, May 29, 2026, while receiving the leadership of the Rivers State Postgraduate Students Union during a courtesy visit to her office.
She stated that despite prevailing challenges, the agency remains focused on implementing policies and programmes that guarantee accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services for residents, in line with Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s Health4AllRivers vision.
According to her, the state government has continued to provide the enabling environment for the agency to deliver on its mandate.

“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, graciously gave us the opportunity in RIVCHPP to implement people-oriented programmes without hindrance,” she said.
Dr. Agala dedicated an Award of Excellence in Administration recognising achievements in health delivery, insurance coverage, and service to humanity to the governor in celebration of his third year in office.
Earlier, the President of the Rivers State Postgraduate Students Union, Barr. Chidi Enyie, represented by Comrade Echefu Raphael, commended the state government for establishing an effective and efficient health insurance agency.
He noted that the award was presented in recognition of Dr. Agala’s leadership and contributions to improving healthcare delivery and insurance coverage in the state. The visit featured the presentation of an award plaque to the RIVCHPP Executive Secretary.
