Political activist and fintech entrepreneur Morris Monye has expressed gratitude to supporters following what he described as a successful outing in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election for the Aniocha North State House of Assembly seat in Delta State.
Monye, a former campaign director in the Labour Party’s presidential campaign structure, said the primary contest was fiercely contested but credited party members and grassroots supporters for standing by him throughout the process.
In a message shared after the exercise, he thanked God for the outcome and praised the commitment of his supporters, noting that the primary reflected the determination of party members to participate in the democratic process.
While expressing confidence in the result, Monye stated that he would await the official ratification and announcement from the national leadership of the NDC in Abuja.
The Aniocha North primary formed part of the party’s nationwide direct primary elections as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Monye’s emergence is expected to add momentum to the NDC’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Delta State, where the party is positioning itself as a growing force in the political landscape.
Supporters who gathered after the exercise celebrated the development, expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in the constituency as attention shifts toward the next stage of the electoral process.
