Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently visited his alma mater, Babcock University in Osun State.
During the visit, he spoke warmly about the university’s influence on his personal growth and professional journey.
Davido stated that the institution played a major role in his success.
“Babcock University shaped my career. I always brag to colleagues that I went to school and graduated. Not everyone who started school got to finish,” he said.
The singer expressed pride in his academic achievement. He noted that being a graduate sets him apart in an industry where many artists did not complete their studies.
The 33-years old superstar graduated with a degree in music from Babcock University.
He also revealed the condition his father set for his music career.
“My dad gave me a condition to go to the university in order to be allowed to do music,” Davido disclosed. He also shared a personal memory from his student days.
“I met my wife, Chioma Adeleke, in Babcock University,” he said.
According to Davido, he created and released many of his hit songs while still a student at the university.
The visit highlighted the importance of education for young talents who dream of a career in entertainment.
