The current member of the House of Assembly for Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 1 in Bayelsa State, Werinipre Pamoh, has emerged victorious to contest for re-election to another term in the 2027 general elections.
This followed an affirmation as the party flag bearer in the face of a successful consensus arrangement conducted by the APC during its primary exercise.
The huge turn out was witnessed at Sampou/Kalama Ward 6 as party members were out in their numbers to register their support for a party candidate in the House of Assembly elections.
In a tweet from his social media account, the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, who participated in the process within his own ward, stated that the large number of people showed how the election is grassroots oriented.
“The massive turnout shows clearly that the House of Assembly election is a grassroots one, very close to the people,” Diri said after the exercise.
In the meantime, the governor congratulated political stakeholders and leaders in the state for showing maturity and levelheadedness, thereby ensuring a smooth primary exercise.
With the primaries getting into full swing, party stakeholders have shown optimism in the APC’s chance to win the 2027 general elections.
According to Diri, “our smooth primaries have set the right mood for our party and placed us at an advantage for victory in all the legislative districts in the state.”
“Our party is well on its way to winning by a landslide in all 24 state constituencies in the general election of 2027 in the state,” Diri asserted.
