The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Peter Undiandeye, has said the large turnout at a 1.5 million-man endorsement rally in Ikom reflects growing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu.
Undiandeye, who headed the planning committee for the event organised by the Prince is Coming Movement, spoke with journalists shortly after the rally held at the Ikom Township Stadium.
He described the crowd as a sign of strong political backing for both leaders across the state.
He said the Tinubu administration had continued to push economic reforms and infrastructure development at the national level, while Governor Otu’s government was focusing on projects and programmes aimed at reaching communities at the grassroots.
According to him, the endorsement of President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Otu, and Deputy Governor Peter Odey was based on what supporters see as visible performance in office.
He added that political actors in the state must stay united as attention gradually shifts toward the 2027 elections.
Undiandeye also praised the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Emmanuel Ironbar, for his role in coordinating the movement and supporting its activities, describing the group as a useful platform for grassroots mobilisation.
He thanked party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters who participated in the rally, saying their presence helped shape the success of the event.
The attracted top political figures, including Deputy Governor Peter Odey, who represented Governor Otu, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Elvert Ayambem, APC State Chairman Chris Etta, lawmakers, party officials, and various support groups across Cross River.
