A member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and a doctor in Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH), Dr. Ere Siana Sintei Ogbachi, has reportedly passed on shortly after the delivery of triplets in Bayelsa State.
In a post shared on Wednesday via Facebook by Barrister Meshack Sintei, her close relative, he noted that Dr. Ogbachi gave birth at NDUTH Okolobiri, Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State and developed complications that led to her being rushed to ICU at Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa.
Bar. Sintei confirmed her death, announced that she reportedly succumbed to death in the early hours of Tuesday, at about 2:45 a.m., following all the medical attempts to revive her by the doctors and specialists from FMC.

Barrister Sintei confirmed that although the doctor’s brother fought hard for her life, as the medics made efforts to stabilize her health condition, unfortunately, her oxygen levels dropped alarmingly.
“We watched her struggling to live, we watched her gasping for breath, we watched at how the Team of Doctors and other experts and specialists in FMC kept trying their best to revive her, we watched her fighting hard to survive, and then all of a sudden; the Sp02machine (pulse oximeter) in the ICU began reading/measuring downwards from 70 to 50 and then to 0,” he said.
However, her demisal has plunged everyone into grief following the birth of the triplets.
Before her death, it was noted that Dr. Ogbachi served as a registrar at NDUTH and had been actively involved in the NMA. She was also an alumnus of the Niger Delta University.
The family expressed gratitude to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for the outpouring of sympathy they received during this difficult period.
