Nathaniel Bassey Reveals Early Childbearing Struggles

Renowned gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey revealed certain aspects on his personal life, disclosing a period of profound hardship that occured in his life, even as he led millions in worship.

The celebrated singer, known for anthems like “Onise Iyanu,” revealed that he and his wife weathered the pain of five pregnancy losses, a story he shared during a recent edition of his popular online worship event, the “Hallelujah Challenge.”

He detailed how his commitment to his ministry never wavered, even as he supported his wife through immense physical and emotional trials. The artist described a routine where he would leave his wife’s hospital bedside to lead the live-streamed “Hallelujah Challenge,” projecting faith and joy to his online congregation, only to return immediately to the medical facility afterward.

“As men of God and ministers, we have heard a lot of stories. People come to me and say, ‘Pastor Nathaniel, you don’t understand’.

“My wife will have to forgive me. Do you know there were times during the Hallelujah Challenge when we had a miscarriage, and nobody knew? I would still come online to praise and dance.”

Addressing the common perception that pastors are insulated from such crises, Bassey provided a powerful testimony to his own family’s resilience. He shared the immense personal toll, stating:

“A few years ago, she was in the hospital with an ectopic pregnancy. I would leave, lead praise and worship online, then return to the hospital, and the nurses attending to her would tell me, ‘It was powerful tonight.’ Not one, not two, not three or four pregnancies, but five,” he said.
