FG Schedules Key Forum to Tackle Fuel Price Concerns

To address the persistent issues of petrol pricing and supply dynamics within Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector, the Federal Government (FG) announced that a two-day national stakeholder forum will be held from July 23 to 24, 2025.

The summit comes amidst increasing calls from independent marketers for clearer price regulation in the deregulated market.

Organized by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), the forum is set to convene a diverse group of participants, including industry operators, marketers, refiners, and government officials.

Discussions are expected to focus on establishing petroleum pricing standards, ensuring adequate feedstock for refineries, and developing strategies to stabilize the currently deregulated market.

The confirmation of these dates and the summit’s objectives was made by Francis Ogaree, the Executive Director of Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installation and Transportation Infrastructure at the NMDPRA.

Ogaree’s announcement came during the recently concluded 24th Nigeria Oil and Gas Energy Week, held in Abuja.
