Eze Akani Urges Fathers to be courageous in their Duty of Child Upbringing

The Royal Highness of Rumuevuorlu community of Rumuokuta in Obio-Akpor Local Government of Rivers State, Eze Christian Akani, has attributed his success in various spheres of life to God Almighty.


Eze Akanni, who made this known in the 2025 Thanksgiving service at St. Matthew Anglican Church, Mgbuoba, expressed gratitude to God for his recent professorial position and Father of the Year award granted to him by the church.

Eze Akani, who is also the head Political Science department, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Rumuelumini, described a successful father as one who is faithful, courageous and lives exemplary lifestyle always for his children to emulate.

He lamented the challenges fathers of today face in the bid to mold their wards character in conformity to the norms of the society.

“Yahoo, yahoo boys, the influence of peer groups is now very high. You in the family would instruct them that when the children go to school, they learn something else. This is why a father has a challenge, so don’t despair, try to get yourself organised and courageous. Above all, pray to God every time because He knows everything”, he admonished.

A well-wisher, Mrs. Festa Aguoha described Eze Akani as trustworthy. “You cannot entice him with anything money to take wrong decision or compromise in anything. He had integrity,” she attested.

Another guest at the event, Mr. Sepiribo Dokuboye described Eze Akani as a role model.

“His love for education is something we all should emulate. He has been a royal father that has protected s lot of us. Since I have been living in this community, I have witnessed peace, ” he noted.

Earlier in his sermon, Evangelist Sunny Okigwe who spcoke on the topic, “God’s Treasured Possession” advised fathers to fear God by serving him in truth and spirit to bring honour to His name.
