Lenglet, FC Barcelona Part Ways After Seven Years

Clément Lenglet, the French international defender, has parted ways with FC Barcelona after seven years at the club. Barcelona confirmed the departure in a statement released on its official website on Monday. Lenglet has subsequently signed a three-season deal with Atletico Madrid, where he spent last season on loan. Both Spanish clubs jointly announced the permanent transfer.

During his loan spell, the French defender made 34 appearances and scored three goals for Diego Simeone’s side. FC Barcelona and first team player Clément Lenglet have reached an agreement for the termination of the contract linking the two parties.

“FC Barcelona would like to publicly thank Clément Lenglet for his commitment and dedication and wish him all the best for the future”, the statement read.
