The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Rivers State Council extends warm felicitations to the entire Muslim faithful in Rivers State on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
The Council urges all Muslims to embrace the core values of love, forgiveness, tolerance, almsgiving, and sacrifice that are central to Eid-el-Kabir.
A statement signed by the Chairman, Comrade Paul Bazia -Nsaneh and Secretary, Ijeoma Tubosia, called on journalists to always uphold the cardinal principles of the journalism profession, which are Truth and Accuracy. “Journalists cannot always guarantee ‘truth’, but getting the facts right is the cardinal principle of journalism.

“We should always strive for accuracy, give all the relevant facts we have and ensure that they have been checked. We implore our Muslim brothers and sisters, particularly those in the journalism profession, to intensify their efforts in reporting the truth for the peace of the State. Sacrificing for one another, demonstrating love, and forgiveness, among members of the Union and the State at Large”.
The NUJ reaffirms its commitment to reinforcing its agenda-setting role in the State, fostering peace and unity among all citizens. NUJ prays that Allah’s blessings continue to shower upon them as they celebrate this joyous occasion. Congratulations!
